Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport dropped 0.8% to 393,286 in June, down from 396,443 during the same month last year.
But at the same time, total aircraft operations--including takeoffs and landings--climbed 6.1% to 47,897, compared to the June, 1987, total operations count of 45,131.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 85% of total aircraft operations in June, climbed 9.8% from the same period in 1987. Air carrier flight operations slid 2.4% while commuter airline operations also dropped 35.3% when compared to levels recorded 12 months ago.
