Local News in Brief : Center Renovation OKd

The Gardena City Council has approved spending more than $1 million on renovations and construction at the Rowley Park Community Center in the city’s Hollypark section.
The face-lift will include a new gymnasium and additional basketball courts, painting the center and remodeling the building to include space for two new conference rooms.
The remodeled facility, at Van Ness Avenue and 132nd Street, will also include handball and tennis courts and a baseball diamond.
Architect Davidson, Mosakowski and Associates will work with the Public Works Department to submit a final blueprint for council approval within two months.
