Local News in Brief : Countywide : Historical ‘Snapshots’ to Be Aired on KOCE

The county’s public TV station, KOCE-TV, will begin a yearlong series of vignettes called “Orange County Centennial Snapshots,” beginning Aug. 1, to spotlight significant events, people and chapters in the county’s history.
The stories will be told through vintage photographs and rare archival movie footage. Most of the vignettes will be drawn from the time span 1776, when European colonization began, to 1945, when World War II ended. The centennial moments, sponsored by The Times Orange County Edition, will be shown during station breaks throughout the day.
In addition, beginning in August, KOCE will broadcast a video calendar to tell viewers about community activities and events during the centennial. Sponsored by the Orange County Medical Assn., the “Centennial Billboards” will be broadcast at various times of the day through next July.
