Israeli Troops Kill Arab Girl, 13
JERUSALEM — Israeli troops shot and killed a 13-year-old Palestinian girl and injured three youths this morning during clashes in occupied Gaza City, a Palestinian doctor and Arab reports said.
Suheir Fuad Afana of the Shati refugee camp was shot in the stomach by troops and died on the operating table at Shifa Hospital, according to a surgeon who asked not to be identified. Hospital officials said troops also shot and wounded three youths ranging in age from 11 to 15. All were hit in the lower body. According to Arab reports, the clashes started about 6 p.m., and protests continued for several hours after the girl was killed.
