A headline in Tuesday’s editions with a story about the arrest of Marques Johnson, forward for the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team, was incorrect. Johnson was not jailed, as the headline said; he was booked on suspicion of beating his wife and released on bail, police said.
Johnson, the former UCLA star and Milwaukee Bucks player, ruptured a disk in his neck in November, 1986, and has not played since.
