Manville Corp. said second-quarter net profit fell 19% to $33.1 million, primarily due to a $13.9-million restructuring charge in connection with asbestos clean-up costs at its properties. The Denver-based building products company, which has been in bankruptcy proceedings for six years, also cited heavy competition in most markets.
