Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Mike Sherrard, who missed last season with a broken leg, will also sit out the 1988 season.
The club said it wants Sherrard to undergo an operation in which doctors would insert a rod into the tibia.
Sherrard, a No. 1 draft pick out of UCLA, said, “I’m against that procedure, but I’ll think about it before I decide finally.â€
Sherrard, who broke his leg last year in training camp, broke it again while jogging in March.
