MSI Data reported net income of $1.3 million for its first quarter ended June 25, a 60% increase from the $805,000 posted a year ago. Revenue of $21.9 million was 7% higher than the $20.5 million recorded for the like period of fiscal 1988. Costa Mesa-based MSI sells and services portable data-collection systems.
