Local News in Brief : Pacoima Youth Killed in Northridge Accident

A 16-year-old youth on his way home from an evening of roller-skating was killed in a traffic accident at Balboa Boulevard and Parthenia Street in Northridge, Los Angeles police said.
The youth, Austin Smith of Pacoima, was thrown from the passenger seat of a car moments after it struck another car about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.
The driver, Gary Smith, 24, and two other passengers, Ernest Dorrier, 18, and Gary Smith’s 15-year-old brother, Todd Smith, all of Sunland, were injured. The dead youth is the cousin of Gary and Todd Smith.
No one in the other car was injured, police said.
