L.A. is the place--if you want your factory, warehouse or distribution center close to international markets. That’s the finding of a national survey of chief executive officers who selected Los Angeles as the best U.S. city to locate such facilities to reach international markets.
Overall, Los Angeles placed No. 6--down two notches from last year--on a list of the best cities to locate a business, according to the survey, which was conducted by Louis Harris & Associates for Cushman & Wakefield, a commercial real estate firm. Atlanta took the top spot followed by San Diego, Boston, Chicago and Dallas-Fort Worth. Other California cities on the list were Sacramento at No. 13--up five spots--and San Francisco at No. 16--down eight spots.
