The Ford Mustang, beloved by baby boomers as the industry’s first sporty compact car, will live on into the 1990s, Ford Motor Co. has announced. The auto maker said it will spend $200 million to upgrade the Dearborn Assembly Plant in Michigan, where the auto is produced. The Mustang made its debut in 1964, and original models from that year are considered classics.
