Reagan Urges Missiles to Kuwait

WASHINGTON — With Britain waiting in the wings, President Reagan today pledged to fight for a proposed sale of Maverick missiles to Kuwait and said he believes there is a chance of success despite resistance in Congress.
Before meeting with Crown Prince Saad al Abdullah al Sabah, Reagan told reporters: “You bet we’re going to fight for it. We want very much to complete that.” The $1.9-billion arms deal could go to the British--who last week snagged a major arms contract with Saudi Arabia--if Congress continues to balk at arming Israel’s enemies.
