Mid-Valley Upsets Indiana to Reach Final

ARC Mid-Valley defeated Indiana, 65-47, Friday to advance to the championship game of the Amateur Athletic Union 12-and-under national basketball tournament in Seattle.
Indiana was the No. 1-seeded team. Mid-Valley improved its tournament record to 6-0.
Forward Bernard Smith led Mid-Valley with 18 points. Guard Cameron Murray, Mid-Valley’s leading scorer, added 16 and forward Lorenzo Lieuluai had 12.
Mid-Valley led by 28 points in the fourth quarter before Coach Rich Goldberg emptied the bench.
“We played real aggressive defense,” Goldberg said.
Mid-Valley (24-0) meets the Memphis Rebels in the final today at 3 p.m. at Juanita High.
