New West Hills Park Is Named Castle Peak

A new 3-acre park being developed in West Hills was named Castle Peak Park by the Los Angeles Recreation and Park Commission on Friday.
The land at Hillhurst Drive and Valley Circle Boulevard was set aside for a park as a condition for Urban West developers receiving city approval to build 175 single-family houses nearby, Councilwoman Joy Picus said. Urban West will grade the property, install sprinklers and plant grass and trees before dedicating it to the city later this summer.
Picus said the name was chosen by residents surveyed by her office.
