Local News in Brief : Fountain Valley : Group to Protest U.S. Policy on Nicaragua

To protest the U.S. trade embargo against Nicaragua, the Orange County Committee on Central America will stage a rally Saturday modeled after the Boston Tea Party.
The committee’s Nicaraguan Coffee Party will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Mile Square Park. The rally will take place at the lake in the northeast corner of the park, near the intersection of Euclid Street and Edinger Avenue, said Shirley Cereseto, spokeswoman for the committee.
She said there will be a trail of red-and-black balloons to follow.
Everyone is invited to drink free Nicaraguan coffee, but participants are advised to bring their own food. For more information, call (714) 774-6188.
