Santa Monica : Hearing Set on Beach Bike Path
- Share via
A public hearing is scheduled Tuesday on the planned 1-mile-long, 14-foot-wide extension of a bike path on the state beach in northern Santa Monica between California Avenue and Chautauqua Boulevard.
The hearing, conducted by the California Coastal Commission, is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at Burton W. Chace Park, Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey.
The extension of the bike path, which was approved by the Santa Monica City Council earlier this year, has been delayed by objections from some residents who own property near the planned route. The Coastal Commission must grant a permit to the city before the bike path can be completed.
