TOXIC DISCLOSURE LAW AT A GLANCE
What: Superfund Amendments Reauthorization Act of 1986, Title 3.
Purpose: Public disclosure of toxic chemicals emitted or disposed of by manufacturers.
Who is subject: All manufacturers with 10 or more employees who annually use 10,000 pounds or more or process or manufacture 75,000 pounds or more of any of 328 chemicals designated by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Law requires: An annual report from subject companies estimating the amount of each chemical emitted into the air, water or ground.
