When Law Clerks Make $1,100 a Week, Something Is Truly Amiss in This World
- Share via
I am out of school. I don’t have a private office. I don’t have a nameplate, I have no parties, I fly to nowhere and am not given time to work out, much less an hour for lunch. I barely, in fact, have half an hour for lunch. And, I must admit, I missed seeing Linda Ronstadt on opening night. But then, I was never actively recruited for my job, and when I leave it, I won’t be actively recruited for another position. I guess I don’t do “real work” although I do “produce memos.” I am a teacher.
My biggest mistake was in not becoming a professional boxer.
