The attorney for Boston Red Sox third baseman Wade Boggs filed an action in Orange County Superior Court asking that the lawsuit filed against Boggs by a Costa Mesa woman be dismissed.
Margo Adams, 32, filed a $6-million suit against Boggs on June 7, charging him with breach of oral contract and fraud based upon a continuous four-year relationship.
“The action we filed is called a demurrer,” said Jennifer King, Boggs’ attorney. “A demurrer is a way of trying to stop the lawsuit before it gets underway. It says facts haven’t been stated sufficiently to constitute a cause of action. It’s another way of saying, ‘Get out of here.’ ”
