RADCLIFF, Ky. — Ford Motor Co. has reached out-of-court settlements with families of almost all the victims of a fiery church bus crash that killed 27 people returning from an amusement park outing, lawyers said Friday.
The agreements required that no dollar value be revealed, said Don Skeeters, a lawyer with the Skeeters & Bennett law firm of Radcliff.
Ford manufactured the chassis of the bus involved in the accident. Sheller-Globe Corp. of Toledo, Ohio, which assembled the vehicle, also was involved in the settlements.
Ford made a proposal last Saturday, said Jack Martin, the auto maker’s associate general counsel.
