City’s Sweep of Two Downtown Homeless Encampments
- Share via
As a visitor from Wisconsin, the City of the Angels seems more like the city of the devils. I am shocked at the cruelty and heartlessness of those city officials responsible for the raids on the camps of the homeless reported in the L.A. Times. The choice of a time to destroy those people’s few pitiful belongings, when the people were eating, could not have been more more devastating. There was no possible reason to refuse people an opportunity to salvage their belongings.
I hope that each of those who call themselves Christians will work through their churches to reach out with compassion and material aid to at least one homeless person or family. Perhaps those who are concerned with civil liberties will work through the courts to help those who have been deprived of their civil liberties without due process of law.
We could do a lot together if each of us did a little.
