Anti-Anti-Colorizers

I rarely find an opportunity to snicker in the mug of so unsympathetic a group as Hollywood and other film directors. (“Colorization Battle Looms on Capitol Hill,” by Nina J. Easton, June 18).
These people, who forever have cut, edited, botched, misread, bastardized, perverted, rearranged, mangled and rewritten classics, literature, novels and the biographical lives of many a celebrated person . . . and always for the sake of greater audience appeal . . . have no cause or defensible right to force their will upon the owners of films, or the people who watch.
Honestly people, the extent of the directors’ hypocrisy, self-indulgence and blind self-examination is uninspiring at its least, and pathetic at its best.
