A body discovered near the Ventura Freeway in Thousand Oaks has been identified as that of 32-year-old Rodolfo Saavedra Cazarez, Ventura County sheriff’s investigators said Thursday.
Cazarez, who also used the name Centeno Andres, was once arrested on a minor narcotics offense in North Hollywood, his last known address, Sgt. Gary Backman said.
Cazarez died of multiple gunshots in the chest. A resident of a trailer park near the freeway found his body about 8 a.m. Monday about 50 feet from the freeway, west of the Hampshire Road off-ramp.
Authorities said he was probably killed elsewhere sometime after 8 p.m. Sunday, driven to Thousand Oaks and dumped down the freeway embankment. Backman said investigators had no leads.
