Vocational Schools

The articles regarding private (and unsatisfactory) vocationals schools overlook an important alternative. Most counties have a regional occupational program that requires no tuition, purchase of books, lab fees, etc.
As an example, the electronics class that I teach two nights a week in Escondido requires students to have a calculator and notebook only. All other material and books are supplied by the school district. Instructors are required to have a state teaching credential and extensive background in the subject matter.
