International Lease Finance Corp., the airplane leasing company that this spring placed the largest commercial plane order in history, reported that its second-quarter profit jumped 64% to $12.8 million in the quarter ended May 31. It attributed the gains to a trend toward leasing of planes by airlines. On May 16, the company announced agreements to buy 130 jetliners from Boeing Co. and Airbus Industrie of Europe over the next five years.
