Gallagher Places 2nd in Invitational 800

Kim Gallagher of El Segundo, silver medalist in the 800 meters at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, placed second in that event at the Michelob Invitational at San Diego on Saturday.
Competing for the Los Angeles track club, Gallagher ran 2 minutes, 0.58 seconds in the meet at Balboa Stadium.
Essie Washington of the Houston track club won in 1:59.70.
