A 44-year-old Glendale man and his three sons were arrested Friday on suspicion of burglarizing a gun shop, police said.
Daniel Raymond Macias Sr.; Daniel Macias Jr., 21; Mario Macias, 20, and a teen-age brother, whose name was not released because of his age, were all booked on suspicion of burglary, Officer Christopher Loop said.
Loop said three of the suspects were arrested outside K & G Guns in the 700 block of South Glendale Avenue about 3:30 a.m. The fourth suspect was arrested later at his residence, Loop said.
Officers on routine patrol had stopped to question two men they saw walking near the gun shop, Loop said. One of the two fled on foot.
Loop said the officers checked the gun shop after they heard a loud noise coming from the building and found a hole had been cut in the roof.
While officers questioned the suspect, two other men arrived, and all three were detained, Loop said.
Officers, fearing that armed suspects might be inside, then called the Los Angeles County sheriff’s special weapons team to search the building. However, no one was found inside, Loop said.
After investigators questioned the three suspects, search warrants were obtained for two residences, Loop said.
Police arrested a fourth suspect at one of the residences and recovered numerous weapons that were later identified as being stolen from the gun shop, Loop said.
