Monday’s big fight in Atlantic City between heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson and undefeated challenger Michael Spinks will be big news on the small screen Sunday morning.
On NBC’s “Sunday Today” (Channels 4 and 36 at 7 a.m., Channel 39 at 8 a.m.), Tyson is scheduled to talk about the fight and the surrounding hoopla. Other segments report on the popularity of Russians in the U.S. and look at modern weddings.
“Sunday Morning” (Channels 2 and 8 at 7:30 a.m.) also will interview Tyson, then cover one farm family’s struggle with the drought, profile Roger Stevens, the retiring chairman of the Kennedy Space Center, and visit the 50th class reunion of a once predominantly black college that is now predominantly white.
Michael Spinks will be represented Sunday by his manager, Butch Lewis, who will discuss his boxer’s fight strategy on “Tony Brown’s Journal,” Channel 28 at 10 a.m.
