Walt Disney Co. said the first television series scheduled to use its sound stages is a made-for-syndication television series called “Superboy.” The company opens its production center at Disney-MGM Studios in Florida this week. The announcement was made jointly by Disney, series producers Alexander and Ilya Salkind and distributor Viacom Entertainment Group. The program, which recently signed an independent agreement with the striking Writers Guild of America, is expected to begin production in August. Post-production also is scheduled to take place at the Florida site.
