Santa Barbara-based Mentor Corp. said in accordance with a jury verdict finding the company liable for infringing a patent for a kidney drainage system, a trial judge has set damages and awarded an injunction. Damages of $1.9 million plus interest were awarded to Medical Engineering Corp. The injunction permanently enjoins Mentor from further infringement of the Medical Engineering patent.
