San Diego
A two-alarm fire, apparently the work of an arsonist, badly damaged a single-story arts cooperative in East San Diego early Monday, fire officials said.
No one was hurt in the fire that swept through the building at 6350 El Cajon Blvd. about 4 a.m., but the arts shops housed there--the Many Hands Creative Arts Co-Op and Blue Dolphin Stained Glass--suffered an estimated $250,000 in damages.
A Fire Department spokesman said Kelly’s Pub at 6344 El Cajon Blvd. suffered minor smoke and water damage. Fire officials believe an arsonist set fire to three Dumpsters in the rear of the building minutes before setting the co-op ablaze.
