Truvel Wins Contract for 300 X-ray Scanners
Truvel Corp., a fledgling Chatsworth-based maker of computerized scanners, said American Telephone & Telegraph Co. ordered about 300 of its X-ray scanners, which should provide Truvel with more than $2 million.
The agreement calls for Truvel, which went public last Jan. 29, to deliver the scanners to AT&T;’s Information Systems unit by Dec. 31, 1990.
Truvel’s scanners take electronic pictures of documents, objects or--as in the case of the AT&T; contract, X-rays--and then store the images in a computer. The image can then be altered by the computer or transmitted to another location.
