Why did Susan Sarandon go to such lengths to get the part of the lusty Annie Savoy in ‘Bull Durham’ opposite Kevin Costner? “How could you not want to do a part where you tie someone to a bed and read him Walt Whitman?†she told the Washington Times. Besides, she said, the love scenes “were not only hopefully hot in some way but . . . Kevin really calls (Annie) on who she is and she really knows who he is and I think that’s the greatest aphrodisiac. Intelligence is sexy.â€
