Alan Christian Wins Speedway Main Event

Alan Christian of Murrieta Hot Springs won the four-lap scratch main event Friday in front of 3,103 fans in the weekly speedway program at the Orange County Fairground in Costa Mesa.

Steve Lucero of Riverside was second, Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa third and Rob Pfetzing of Santa Ana fourth.

Bernie Tusco of Cypress won the eight-lap handicap main event. Walt Farnum of Ventura was second, Tuff McBride of San Bernardino third and Scott Brant of Riverside fourth.
