City Fines United Cable TV Company $51,269

The Los Angeles City Council ordered a cable television company to pay the city $51,269 in damages Friday for failing to finish on time a cable network in the eastern San Fernando Valley.
United Cable Television of Los Angeles also was ordered to deposit an additional $186,200, which will be returned with interest if the network is finished by the end of the year and all residents who have signed up for the service are connected to it by Feb. 28, 1989.
