Local News in Brief : Mission Viejo : Clinton Sherrod Named First Planning Director

Clinton Sherrod has been named the first planning director of the new city of Mission Viejo, according to Mayor Norman P. Murray. The appointment will become effective July 1.
Murray said Sherrod’s first duties will be to staff the department, in which he now is the only employee.
Sherrod has a master’s degree in public administration from Occidental College and a master’s of science in regional planning from USC.
Murray said a new Planning Commission will be appointed by the City Council in July.
