Hillman Properties of Newport Beach purchased the 1,402-acre Pacific Rim Country Club and Resort in Carlsbad and plans to build 2,800 homes on the property . . . Corecare, a group of Fullerton doctors and other investors, will begin building in January what it says is the first retirement home project in north Orange County, a 338-unit, 41-acre, $75-million project at Bastanchury Road and Brea Boulevard in Fullerton called Morningside . . . Woodcrest Development Inc., an Irvine home builder, bought 325 acres known as the Wallace Ranch south of Weir Canyon Road in Anaheim and will build 1,100 homes . . . The Irvine Co. selected Property Management Systems of Houston to manage and lease the company’s six high-rise office buildings and two garden office complexes in Newport Center . . . Tallmantz Aviation, the largest fixed-base operator at John Wayne Airport, said it had bought four more acres of runway frontage at the airport . . . Santa Margarita Co. selected real estate broker Grubb & Ellis Co. to market land at its 400-acre Rancho Santa Margarita Business Park in the company’s planned community of Rancho Santa Margarita . . . Headquarters Cos. in Irvine, which sublets office space and provides services to small companies, said it had opened its first such Executive Center in Hawaii, bringing its total to 77 executive centers nationwide . . . Grove Investment Co. of Costa Mesa bought two 50,000-square-foot industrial buildings in Santa Ana from Vard Newport for $5.4 million and plans to develop the property into a multitenant industrial center, Grubb & Ellis Co. reported . . . The Mortgage Group Inc., a Newport Beach mortgage banker, has opened a branch office in Phoenix.
