Actress Margaret Marx, who plays a track athlete in South Coast Repertory’s production of “Golden Girls,” may have taken method acting a tad too far, orthopedically speaking. While training for her role at UC Irvine’s track and field facilities, Marx sustained a “stress fracture” to her ankle and appears--offstage, that is--in a bandage. The Costa Mesa theater company reports, however, that like a good athlete, Marx is pulling through and that her performance has not been affected.
