Old Globe Theater artistic director Jack O’Brien has again turned his energy toward television, directing “I Never Sang For My Father,” scheduled to air at 9 p.m., Wednesday, on KPBS, Channel 15. O’Brien, who previously directed the acclaimed PBS version of “The Skin of Our Teeth,” guides Daniel J. Travanti, Dorothy McGuire and Harold Gould in Robert Anderson’s autobiographical drama about his evolving relationship with his father. In addition to O’Brien, there is another San Diego connection: Gould recently finished a stint at the Hahn Cosmopolitan Theater in the one-man show “Freud.”
