UC Irvine Wins Another Sailing Title

UC Irvine’s sailing team won its second championship in four days Tuesday as the Anteaters placed first in the Intercollegiate Yacht Racing Assn. team championship at the Richmond Yacht Club in Richmond, Calif.

Irvine finished 10-1 in the match races. College of Charleston (S.C.) and Navy tied for second with 9-2 records.

The Anteaters won the dingy championship last week, also at Richmond.

Jon Pinckney and Nick Scandone of Irvine were named All-Americans by the racing association. The Anteaters’ Mike Sturman was named honorable mention All-American.
