Jack Henn, who led San Diego State to the 1973 National Collegiate Athletic Assn. men’s volleyball championship, has been named men’s coach again in a reorganization of the volleyball program.
Rudy Suwara, who was the school’s director of volleyball last season and oversaw the men’s and women’s programs, said Tuesday he will remain as women’s coach, a position he has held since he came to SDSU in 1976. He also coached the men from 1977-80 and last season.
Suwara said the change was made two weeks ago by Athletic Director Fred Miller. Last year, Miller had appointed Suwara director of volleyball in a reorganization of the athletic department that included the appointment of directors of golf, tennis and track and field.
Henn, who left coaching in 1974, returned to the Aztecs in 1985 as an assistant men’s coach.
