Jackson Hints at Vice Presidency

TRENTON, N.J. — The Rev. Jesse Jackson said today that he has “earned consideration†for the vice presidential spot on the Democratic ticket if Massachusetts Gov. Michael S. Dukakis wins the party nomination as expected.
Jackson’s comments marked the first time he has publicly entertained the prospect of running for vice president. Indeed, he is said to have privately chastised top campaign aides for discussing the idea with reporters.
