Dan Rather (CBS), Tom Brokaw (NBC) and Peter Jennings (ABC) will do their evening news anchoring this week from Moscow during the Reagan-Gorbachev summit.
To start the week, President Reagan’s arrival in the U.S.S.R. early Sunday morning will be televised, and there will be summit-related guests on the Sunday news magazine programs.
In addition, all three networks will offer special reports during the week on “CBS This Morning,” “Today” and “Good Morning America.”
On cable, the Discovery channel will broadcast the Soviet evening news program “Vremya” at 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, providing another perspective on the meeting. The newscasts will be translated into English.
