A 19-year-old woman was wounded in a drive-by shooting, San Diego police said Thursday.
Melissa Barrow was shot once in the leg while talking with friends at Imperial Avenue and 30th Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
According to police spokesman Bill Robinson, the shot came from one of three vehicles traveling west on Imperial.
Barrow was taken by friends to San Diego Physicians & Surgeons Hospital, then transferred to UCSD Medical Center. She was held overnight and treated for a bullet wound to the right calf, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Robinson said it is not known whether the incident is related to several other drive-by shootings in the past week. Gang detail detectives were investigating.
