SWIMMING
Freshman Alison Terry of University of San Diego High set two section records and also qualified for the senior nationals at Saturday’s section championships.
Terry, 14, won the 50 freestyle in 24.09 and the 100 backstroke in 58.55.
TRACK
Stacy Thompson, a sophomore at Morse, ran a county-best 44.87 to win the 300-meter low hurdles at Saturday’s section preliminaries. Thompson’s previous best was 46.7.
DIVING
Kristen Walls of Monte Vista High School won the San Diego Section diving championship Friday with 428.40 points, the second-highest point total in section history.
Walls, a junior, scored 55.20 points on an inward 1 1/2 pike to take over first place for good. She finished ahead of Erin Hoese of Point Loma, who had 405.30. Eileen Maul, who won the title the previous three years, did not compete because of a rotator-cuff injury.
