The Fluor Daniel unit of Fluor Corp. won a $25-million contract to nearly double the production capacity of a Texas chemical plant. Houston-based Sterling Chemicals has hired Fluor Daniel to provide engineering, procurement and construction-management services for the expansion of its Texas City plant, which makes a chemical used in the manufacturing of apparel, carpets, upholstery and automotive components. The expansion should be completed in mid-1989.
