Proposition 68: Limit on Funds

Why are some people so opposed to the use of some public funds to help finance state political campaigns, as proposed in Proposition 68? I’d much rather have my legislator responsive to the public’s contributions than to massive contributions from insurance companies, banks, oil companies, etc.
