The Fullerton division of Hughes Aircraft Co. said it is joining with three Canadian electronics firms to bid on a $300-million to $400-million project to help renovate the Canadian air traffic control system. Under the bid, which is expected to be made in late summer, Hughes’ Ground Systems Group would be responsible for system design, system integration, program management and development of the work stations for the Canadian Automated Air Transport System. The system is a central element of a multibillion-dollar program called the Canadian Airspace System Plan.
