There’s an international dispute going on over the custody of one Lorcan O’Toole--the 5-year-old son of actor Peter O’Toole. A New Jersey court ordered the British actor to hand the child over to his mother, Karen Somerville O’Toole (O’Toole’s former girlfriend, they never married but she took his last name) by May 17, but O’Toole--ensconced in London with the child--has refused. Now a British court will decide today if the child is within its jurisdiction. If it rules Lorcan is not, O’Toole could be arrested if he attempts to re-enter the United States. O’Toole is being fined $1,000 per day by the American court for non-compliance with its order to return Lorcan.
