Sikh radicals shot and killed 15 people in north India’s Punjab state, and the government flew in special anti-insurgency forces to combat escalating violence. In Amritsar, where a 10-day siege at the Golden Temple ended Wednesday, a committee of Sikh elders that administers the temple agreed to cooperate with the government to prevent militants from again turning the temple complex into an armed camp. Sikh religious rites at the temple, suspended for nearly two weeks, are due to be resumed today.
